Both kinds of clinic advertise the same way. They behave very differently once you are inside, and the differences are not subtle if you know where to look.
This is not a claim that any particular clinic is one thing or the other, and it is certainly not a claim that treatment is wrong for anyone. Plenty of people have findings worth acting on. It is about the order operations happen in, and about who has the information when a decision gets made.
Evaluation, then testing, then a conversation about what the results mean, then a decision. When a plan is described first and testing follows to confirm it, the sequence has been inverted, and your results were never in a position to change the outcome.
Urgency is the most reliable pressure technique there is: a slot that expires, a package priced only today, a start date before you have had a chance to think. None of that is clinical reasoning. You are always allowed to take information home.
Ask how often a first visit ends without treatment. In a clinic that evaluates people this happens routinely and nobody is embarrassed by the question. Where it is rare, ask why.
A program with a fixed length quoted before anyone has your results describes what the clinic sells, not what you need. That is worth knowing before you decide, not after.
No website and no advertisement can know what any treatment would do for you specifically, because none of them has examined you. Language that promises how you will feel is a marketing decision. Be skeptical of it, including anywhere it appears near a clinic you are considering.
For each item proposed -- a test, a repeat visit, a program length -- it is fair to ask what it answers for you. Good clinics have ready answers, because they asked themselves the same question.
A clinic can be commercially organized and still practice carefully, and a slow, thorough clinic is not automatically right about you. The goal is not suspicion. It is having enough information to tell which room you are in before you commit to anything.
